GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our current members for this upcoming year. I have the distinct honor to serve as President of the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association (THBA) from July 2023 through June 2024. I joined the THBA in 2013 and have been an active member since. The THBA was formed by Hispanic attorneys to focus on fostering camaraderie and professionalism among all attorneys with a passion for addressing the legal needs of the Hispanic community in Tampa. Through professionalism, awareness, and community involvement, we hope to represent the best of our profession. But most importantly, we hope to pass along a similar commitment to the organization’s core beliefs to the next generation of Hispanic attorneys.

As President of the THBA my goals for this year will be focused on providing opportunities that will help foster professional success for all of our members, while also maintaining a strong presence in the Hispanic community. We have many events planned that we hope will enrich our members’ professional endeavors. This varies from educational CLE’s and empowering luncheons, to our Pro-bono legal fair and community service projects. Additionally, we have our Young Lawyer’s Division and a newly launched mentoring program. Lastly we have our scholarship program, which helps identify aspiring students who want to pursue legal studies. Not only do we award scholarship to these students, but we provide a continuing network of support for them as well.

We will remain resolute in our commitment to serving the Hispanic community. It is our vision that through our scholarship program, mentoring, and various networking opportunities, that we can help members of our community, while simultaneously promoting the integrity of the legal profession. This could not be possible without the commitment of our members and dedicated Board of Directors. I would like to thank the members of the Judiciary, our sponsors, and our long-standing members for the support you have shown us throughout the years. It is a privilege to have your support and involvement in our organization.
