The Tampa Hispanic Bar Association and the George Edgecomb Bar Association invite you to an event to honor the legacy and heritage of the Sociedad La Union Marti-Maceo.

Sociedad La Union Marti-Maceo is a mutual aid society founded by Afro-Cuban Americans in Tampa in 1900. The club began as an integrated group but eventually, due to the pressures of Jim Crow, it would split across racial lines. Today, this club stands as a legacy to the hard work, achievement and dedication of Afro-Cuban Americans everywhere. Speakers will include Dr. Susan Greenbaum, author of More Than Black: Afro-Cubans in Tampa., Judge E.J. Salcines, Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera and Dr. Cheryl R. Rodriguez, daughter of the late Francisco Rodriguez.

**Attendance is free of charge but pre-registration is required.
